My name is Lorenzo Roffarè. I’m 47 years old, and for years I travelled all over the world. Every time I went to a new country, I always had the same problem; I didn’t know what to do. There was never someone to advise me on anything other than the usual online and paper guides. One day on a social networking site I met a girl from Pasadena, Wendy. I went to visit her in Los Angeles (I had already been there twice) and, even though we were from two different cultures, talking about tourism and our travels, we discovered that the problems were similar, even when she had come to Italy she had visited the usual famous places (Colosseum, Tower of Pisa, Venice, Amalfi Coast, Florence, Pompeii, etc.. ) all beautiful places, certainly worth visiting, but which do not make you fully understand Italy and all its incredible facets. In those 15 days I saw things in California that you can’t even find in the most complete guidebooks. So, after a few months, when she came to Italy (Northeast of Veneto) she saw and experienced things that she would never have seen with any regular tour operator.

From that point on, we had this great idea. Why don’t we open a tour operator that allows Americans to visit Italy from a different perspective and Italians to visit the United States in the same way? Hence ItalianTrips came about. A small Italian/American tour operator based in Florida (soon in California too), that organizes trips for those tourists who want something “handcrafted”, made to measure and not the usual organized trip with chaotic buses packed with people, long lines, and endless stress.
